About
Blame It On Ashley LLC
As a child, filmmaker Ashley Patrick began her love affair with art through drawing, painting, photography, and acting. This passion led her to Western Illinois University where she pursued a Bachelor Degree in Graphic Design. Her creative style was quickly noted for being innovative and “out the box”. Ashley’s creativity began to manifest through different forms of media as she felt the desire to break free from conformity and create art that told a story; hence the birth of Blame it On Ashley LLC in 2007; an entertainment company aspiring to be creative through the realms of music, television, and film & video productions.
Support The Hustle: The Documentary was her first major video production created in collaboration with Toyota’s HEYA project. Her love of comedy and natural acting ability became the driving force behind her next venture. Idolizing great comics such as, Martin Lawrence, Vicki Lawrence, and Jamie Foxx while also having a great appreciation for television shows such as, The Carol Burnett Show, Saturday Night Live, and In Living Color; Ashley decided to develop the improv sketch comedy show entitled, Throw’d TV.
As of late, the internet show has risen from the underground and has become a topic of discussion with the success of the “Facebook Breakup” skit. Ashley continues her duties as a director and extends her portfolio with music videos for local musicians and her second documentary, The H.O.O.D: Heroes On Our Doorstep with notable Chicago activist, Mama Brenda Matthews. Hard work and a dedication to limitless art, sets her apart. “If I build it, they will come and if they come, they will follow” is Ms. Patrick’s personal motto.
